How to merge PDF files into one

Requirements get submitted as one file more often than not — an application, a liquidation, a set of receipts. Merging joins your PDFs end to end in whatever order you choose, and here it happens entirely on your device.

Steps

  1. Choose every file at once

Open Merge PDF and select all the PDFs together. You can also add more afterwards — each pick adds to the list rather than replacing it.

  2. Put them in the right order

This is the part people get wrong. The merged file follows the order shown on screen, numbered top to bottom. Use the arrows on each row to move a file earlier or later until the list reads the way the final document should.

  3. Merge and download

Press Merge PDFs and download the result. The pages are copied across as they are, so text stays selectable and searchable — the merged file is not a picture of your documents.

Check the order on screen before you press merge. It is the single thing worth a second look, because the file order is the page order and nothing later in the process will warn you.

Common questions

Does merging reduce quality?

No. Each page is copied with its own fonts and vectors intact. Nothing is re-rendered, so the merged file looks exactly like the originals.

How many files can I merge?

There is no set limit. The practical ceiling is your device memory, since everything is held in the browser — on a phone, very large scans are where you would notice.

Can I merge a Word file or an image?

Not directly — merging takes PDFs. For images, use Convert first to turn them into a PDF, then merge that with the rest.

I put them in the wrong order. Do I start over?

No. Reorder with the arrows and merge again. Nothing was sent anywhere, so there is nothing to undo but the download.
