More about this tool

The editor opens your PDF in this page and lets you change what is already there — fix a typo in the document’s own text, delete a paragraph, move an image — as well as add your own text, drawings and a signature on top. Nothing is uploaded: the file is read by your browser and stays on your device.

When to use it

Reach for it when a document needs a real correction rather than a note stuck on top: a wrong date on a form, a name spelled wrong, a paragraph that has to go. For signing and initialling, the signature tool draws or types one and places it where you need it.

What it will not do

Edited text is written back in the document’s own font, and only characters that font does not contain fall back to a similar one. A few pages — rotated ones, or ones whose text is drawn in an unusual way — cannot be changed in place, and come back with their background as an image and the text as real, selectable text on top. Pages you never touch are written out exactly as they arrived. And a scanned document is a picture of text, so there is nothing there to edit.

Common questions

Can I change the text that is already in the PDF?

Yes. Click the document’s own text to fix a typo, change a date or delete a paragraph — not just add a note on top. You can also move its images.

Can I sign a PDF here?

Yes. Draw or type a signature and place it where the document needs it.

Is the editor free, and is my file uploaded?

It is free with no account, and the file is not uploaded — it is read by your browser and stays on your device.
