Frequently asked questions
Is PDF Tool PH really free?
Yes. Every tool is free to use, with no account, no trial and no watermark. If it saves you time, an optional tip helps keep the site running.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF, image and Word tools run in your browser, so your file is read on your own device and never sent to us. The one exception is the AI tools — see the last question.
Is there a file size limit?
We don't set one. Because the work happens on your device, the limit is your device's memory: a phone may struggle with a very large or image-heavy PDF that a laptop handles easily. If a big file fails, try a computer, or split it into parts first. The AI Summarizer reads only the first 50 pages.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The site is built for phones first — the tools, the file chooser and the layout all work in a phone's browser, and Scan to PDF uses your phone's camera. Very large files may be slow on an older phone.
Can I use it offline?
Not yet. You need a connection to open the site and load a tool. Once a tool is open, your file is processed on your device, so a weak signal won't stop the work part-way — but we can't promise it keeps working with no connection at all.
Do you add a watermark?
No. Files you save from PDF Tool PH come out without our branding. The Watermark tool only adds the text or logo you choose.
Which tools use AI, and what happens to my file there?
Two tools use AI. AI PDF Summarizer reads the text of your PDF (up to 50 pages) and sends that text — not the PDF file or its images — to Cloudflare Workers AI. The text is kept in a temporary session for 30 minutes, and generated answers may be cached for up to 7 days. AI PDF Assistant keeps your file on your device and sends only the instruction you type, so it can pick the right tool. Every other tool stays on your device. Avoid the Summarizer for documents you don't want processed by AI.
